Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula | Childbirth Educator | Breastfeeding Counselor | Perinatal Nutrition Counselor
Hey there! I'm Marie Engler, mama of three to Olive, Maxwell, & Maisie. With Olive, I wanted to have a non-medicated birth at home, but my husband & I settled on giving birth at a birth center (since it was my first birth). I had an insane labor experience that ultimately ended with me giving birth in my bathroom. Luckily, my husband & doula were there, but Olive made her appearance before my midwife or the paramedics had arrived. This experience was incredible & not only solidified the idea that it was time to change careers, but it also ensured that I would make it my mission to inform, support & love on soon-to-be mamas & their families during this magical time.
Fortunately, with my next child, Maxwell, I was able to have a planned home birth with my midwife and doula present. It was such an incredible, positive experience, and I would love to help other women have similar experiences.
My third birth with Maisie was also an incredible at-home water birth. My midwives almost didn't make it because I was so calm, but thankfully, I listened to my gut, and they were at my house for a total of 12 minutes before Maisie made her appearance.
I went to college to become a teacher & was extremely passionate about it, but after giving birth to Olive, I wanted to be able to be home more & watch her grow. After that wild birth experience, I knew becoming a doula and educating mamas was what I was meant to do. I want women to feel empowered & informed in their choices during pregnancy, labor, & as they move into motherhood. That is why I created Olive Doula Services.
Melissa Wilson
Certified Birth Doula
Hi! I’m Melissa Wilson, mom to two sweet boys, Levi and Cameron. After experiencing firsthand how powerful birth support can be, I knew I wanted to help other families feel that same calm and confidence during labor. My two labors were very different, and each one gave me a deeper appreciation for how having the right support can help you feel empowered and in control — even when your original birth plan needs to change.
A little about me: I’m a Chicago native who moved to Arizona in 2024 for my husband’s job — though deep down, we always knew we wanted to live somewhere we could enjoy the outdoors year-round. I earned my degree in Business Management and spent the last 9 years in the corporate world, but after becoming a mother, I realized my heart was elsewhere. Supporting other mamas during pregnancy and birth is where I truly belong.
When I’m not chasing after my two little ones, you can find me at a hot yoga class, tackling a home project, or catching up with friends old and new.
I look forward to working with you and being a part of your birth journey.
